Gozo
Worth seeing
Cittadella
Built in the 13th century, the Citadel sits atop a cliff north of downtown Victoria. It invites you to take a look into the past and learn more about the history of Gozo. Definitely worth a visit!
Gozo is worth exploring! Be it on foot, by bike (we recommend an e-bike), a scooter or car. This small island offers a great variety and some corners make you pause and marvel! Here are just a few examples of what our small island of Gozo, 14km x 7km, has to offer.
Mgarr Harbour
There is no way beyond Mgarr! The pretty harbor welcomes all arrivals. Whether young or old, local or guest. He also invites you to linger. For a good meal near the sea, nice walks or to watch the fishermen at work.
Dwejra
A popular spot for snorkelers and divers. The Blue Hole in particular invites you to do so! But the Inland Lake and the 10-minute boat tour are also worthwhile. Whether it's for a dip in calmer waters, a boat perspective of the cliffs or spotting crabs. You can also take a walk to Crocodile Rock and Fungus Rock to enjoy the sea from the mainland.
Salt Pans
Salt mining is a cultural asset in Gozo! The Saltpans between Marsalforn and Wied il Ghasri are passed down from generation to generation and are well worth a visit. Xwejni Bay, located next door, also invites you to linger and snorkeling can give you the opportunity to encounter a moray eel or an octopus.
Ramla Beach
Our largest sandy beach (300m) is Ramla. You can easily spend a day there. Snorkeling, swimming, eating, lounging... It's also worth taking the coastal path on either side of the beach. On the left, after a somewhat steep but short ascent, there is a beautiful panoramic view of the beach, on the right an interesting footpath stretches along the sea.
Wied il Mielah
Gozo's still preserved "stone window" is worth a visit! Don't forget to take a look at the coasts "around the corner". Spectacular!
Ta’Cenc Cliffs
One of the most spectacular stretches of coastline are the Ta'Cenc Cliffs, just a stone's throw from Villa Serenity. The Ta'Cenc level invites you to take a walk, impressive cacti, fantastic views (also to Comino and Malta) and the smell of wild thyme make you stop and enjoy.
Xlendi
Next to Marsalforn the only town by the sea. Xlendi is worth a visit at any time of the day. Early in the morning you can see the fishing boats outside, at noon people from all over the world enjoy the atmosphere in the restaurants right by the sea and the sunset in Xlendi is always fantastic. If you are in Xlendi, you should definitely visit the section below the tower!
